Are we born with a blank emotional slate? No, we are not! But it is the buildup of negative emotions over
his/her growth period that affects the performance of the child and stands in
the way of his/her success. A child’s upbringing and the environment where s/he
grows play a major role in shaping his/her emotional state. If the child gets
influenced by negative thoughts, then that will lead to emotional contamination,
thereby obstructing full-fledged progress in life. The words that we use to
communicate and the behavior of the family as well as community towards the
child also determine his/her emotional success.
So how do we ensure that our
child grows up with a positive emotional state?
Here are 5 simple remedies that
you can try:
v
Abstain from pointing finger to negativities
and/or exaggerating them. Acknowledge, appreciate, and encourage his
positivities.
v
Avoid traumatizing words; instead communicate
using positive words.
v
Ensure a stress-free environment for the child
to grow up. Don’t expose them to quarrels and conflicts.
v
Abstain from making unfair comparisons.
v
Most importantly, be approachable for the child
with any emotional challenge that s/he is facing.
